We spoke on History of Developmental Disabilities & The History and Role of the Parent Movement and Diana Rovetti & Travis Mills helped out.  I Travis Mills talked on People First of Nevada and introduced my Self and Diana introduced her self too.

Nevada Partners Leadership Program

The Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities is seeking applications from motivated, interested individuals throughout Northern Nevada, who have developmental disabilities, or are parents of young children with developmental disabilities, to become candidates for Nevada Partners Leadership Program.

Our Classes being held at:

University of Nevada Reno: Redfield Campus

9:00AM to 5:00PM

Participants are required to:

  • Commit to attend all 8 Saturday sessions
  • Complete homework assignments between sessions.
  • Complete an e-learning course. (technical assistance will be provided if needed). 
  • Commit to a project to be completed after graduation.

Participants Will Received:

  • Valuable working knowledge on disability issues and information on resources available in their community.
  • Advocacy skills.
  • New relationships with people who have the same interests as you.

Nevada Partners Leadership Program is an innovative national model of leadership training for people with developmental disabilities, parents and family members, designed to teach parents and self-advocates the power of advocacy and to change the way people with disabilities are supported, viewed, taught, live and work. The Nevada Partners Leadership Program training provides state-of-the-art knowledge about issues and policies related to disability, and will develop participant competencies to become more effective in influencing policy development at all levels.
